Beyond the books, here is a look at where my stories and writing journey have been featured. Dive in to explore recent awards, competition highlights, media appearances, and interviews detailing the inspiration behind the worlds I create.
CONTEST PLACEMENTS
When I first began exploring writing fantasy, entering competitions became my testing ground. I threw myself into sending stories out into the world, and the encouraging results and early wins gave me the momentum—and belief—I needed to sit down and finish my very first novel. Here are a few of the milestones and placements that helped shape that journey.

Media & Press Appearances
Chatting about books, writing processes, and world-building is one of my absolute favourite parts of being an author. From newsletter spotlights and podcast conversations to a featured article in The Author’s Vault following a fantastic interview, here is a collection of my recent media appearances and guest features.

The Authors Vault : Formatting Interview
Formatting a book is one of those final steps in the publishing journey that seems simple on the surface—until you are hours deep into fixing a rogue page break or fighting with running headers.
In a recent interview for The Author’s Vault, I sat down to discuss the ins and outs of interior book design, common traps that trip up self-publishing authors, and how to create a publication-ready manuscript without losing your sanity.
Key Discussion Topics:
- Setting Up Word correctly: Why mastering Section Breaks, Paragraph Styles, and Mirror Margins early on prevents total layout collapse later.
- Streamlining with Atticus: Using dedicated formatting software to create seamless ePubs and print-ready PDFs, and why starting with a clean file is crucial.
- Avoiding common pitfalls: Quick fixes for stranded lines (widows and orphans), erratic scene separators, and body font selection.
- Beating the overwhelm: How my professional interior formatting services help authors skip the technical headaches entirely and launch with complete confidence.

Podcast – In Between the Realms
I discuss the road to publishing, the impact of the death of my mother and co conspirator in the creation of the world and magic system of Ascendia, along with the therapy that writing then became.
Note: I have since been asked to return to the podcast for a follow up discussion around what happened with the launch and to discuss the upcoming releases for the end of 2026. Scheduled for October.

Media Enquiries &
Press Resources
I love connecting with fellow authors, bookish hosts, and creative communities to chat about all things writing, world-building, and book production. Whether you are looking for a podcast guest, an interview contributor, or an article feature, here are a few topics I am always delighted to explore:
- Crafting Fantasy & Rich Worlds: Building multi-book sagas within the world of Ascendia, weaving standalone Scottish Highland romantacy filled with Kelpie and Bòcan lore, and stepping into cosy fantasy crime with my upcoming Monstrous Murders series.
- Deep Character Design: How to craft dimensional characters, building intricate pantheons of gods that lurk in the background without ever being explicitly named, and using the “meaningless rubbish”—the tiny, mundane habits—that instantly make a fictional persona feel real.
- The Art & History of Book Formatting: Why book layout looks the way it does! From the historical purpose of drop caps to the functional reason we leave generous outer margins (to make room for your thumb, of course), alongside practical typesetting advice for self-published authors.
- Short Fiction vs. Epic Manuscripts: The stark contrast between editing a tight 500-word flash fiction piece and wrestling a massive 100,000+ word fantasy novel into shape.
- The Reality of Working as a Full-Time Author: What it truly looks like to write and produce stories on a full-time schedule—balancing creative output, production pipelines, and independent publishing realities.
Panels, Judging & Event Enquiries
Beyond media interviews, I love engaging directly with the writing and reading community. Having served as a judge for the PATH Anthology, I am available for appointment to judging panels for short story competitions, flash fiction contests, and fantasy prose awards.
I am also open to joining discussion panels at book fairs, writing conventions, and literary events to speak on world-building, character depth, short fiction, or the craft of book formatting.
