February Reading Roundup: Indies, Ink, and Imagination

February Reading Roundup: A month of wonder & alternate realities

My February reading was a whirlwind of magical portals, alternate realities, and high-stakes wonder. My TBR pile didn’t stand a chance this month, and honestly, the indie scene is absolutely thriving right now. From signed physical copies that I’ll be cherishing on my shelves to gripping audiobooks that made my daily chores feel like an epic quest, here is everything I devoured this month.

The Physical Treasures (Signed & Special!)

There is something truly magical about holding a physical book, especially when the author has tucked a signature inside.

  • The Wonderchild by Kate Simkins: Getting a signed copy of this was a total “squee” moment! It’s a beautifully crafted tale that fits perfectly into that sense of wonder I crave.
  • Terminus of All Things by Jay Neill: Another signed beauty for the collection. Jay’s work always has such a distinct atmosphere, and this was no exception.
  • Ten Billion to One by M.E. Tilburn: Having this physical copy felt substantial in all the right ways—a gripping read that kept me turning pages late into the night.

The Digital & Audio Delights

My e-reader and headphones were working overtime this month. Whether I was winning giveaways or discovering new series, these stories were top-tier.

  • The Fury She Holds by Milli C Vieira: I was lucky enough to win this in a giveaway! It’s an evocative, emotionally layered story that I’m so glad I got my hands on.
  • Donkeys & Demons by G Clatworthy (Audiobook): This was such a fun experience. The narrator captured the tone perfectly, making the demonic encounters feel vivid and surprisingly grounded.
  • The Lure of Evil & A Night of Ruin by Jenny Bassett: A double-bill of Jenny Bassett this month! These stories provided the perfect dark, gripping tension that fans of domestic suspense and fantasy will adore.
  • The Lessons We Learn by Chandler Bean: A thoughtful exploration of character and consequence.
  • Dragonslayer by Tea Spangsberg: You can’t have a fantasy month without a dragon or two, and this delivered on the mythical scale I love.
  • Peculiar Consequences by Jay Neill: A perfect companion to my other Jay Neill read this month—wonderfully strange and immersive.

February REading: Final Thoughts

This month reminded me why I love the indie community so much. There is a raw, imaginative energy in these pages that you just don’t always find in mainstream releases. Every one of these authors managed to build a world that felt both vast and intimately personal.
